NotaryCLT Signings™ is a mobile notary public and signing service business registered in NC and owned by Dean Eason-Williams that provides notary services to the Charlotte metro area and a 50 mile radius, in addition to natiowide mobile notary public services. Mobile Notary services bring the notary to you!
While every Notary Public commissioned by the Secretary of State of North Carolina is allowed to perform notary services in any of the 100 counties in NC, NotaryCLT Signings™ service area for mobile notary services is more defined to the Charlotte-Metro area and within a 50 mile radius. If you are in the metro area, give us a call and we'll discuss your notary need and mileage costs (mileage is charged at the federal rate of $0.655 and must be agreed to before taking the assignment for mobile services).
In addition to the local nature of NotaryCLT Signings™ , thousands of notaries are available for assignments nationwide through our secure and encrypted platform.
NotaryCLT Signings™ can notarize various types of documents, including affidavits, power of attorney, titles, healthcare directives, and more. If you have a question about a specific document type, please let us know and we'll let you know if your needs fall within our notarial duties and authority. Additionally, all documents involved in Loan and Estate signings are within both NotaryCLT and Carolina Trust Delivery's scope of expertise.
You will need to bring a valid federal or state issued ID, the document to be notarized, and any other necessary paperwork, forms or witnesses. Please note that the form of ID can not be expired, must have a clear photo and either a signature or physical description in order to be considered satisfactory proof of identity according to the State of North Carolina.
In their sole capacity as a NC Notary Public, notaries public cannot legally perform weddings. However, notaries public who are ordained or otherwise legally permitted to perform weddings may do so, just not in their role as a notary public. However, SC Notaries Public commissioned in SC may legally conduct weddings.
The fees for notarial acts are maintained by statute (see NC G.S. 10B-31) and are as follows:
Mobile notaries like NotaryCLT Signings™ are allowed to charge for mileage at the current federal reimbursement rate so long as the charge is agreed to by the principal in writing before the notary begins travel. As of January 1, 2023, that rate is 65.5 cents per mile. Howver, General Notary Work (GNW) that does not require NotaryCLT Signings™ to travel to the client is usually free of charge- performed at our location. This is our giveback to the community!
* G.S. 10B-30(d) A notary may not charge any fee for witnessing or a fixing a notarial seal to an absentee ballot application or certificate under G.S. 163–231.
We are able to accept cash, debit cards (with chip or magstrip), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and all major credit cards. We can do some contactless payments (tap to pay) or swiping via Square card readers. For Loan or Estate signings, paper or electronic check payments are also acceptable.
A notary is prohibited from giving legal advice or assisting with deciding which notarial certificate is to be used. If you need to download a form, please follow this link to the Secretary of State's website and choose the form you require. NotaryCLT does keep a small supply of common certificates on hand, but cannot advise you on which one you will need.
The signatures on documents to be notarized must be signed in the presence of the notary public. Documents that are already signed can not be notarized if the notarial certificate requires the notary to witness the signing of the document.
Not yet. Currently the state of North Carolina is working towards implementation of Remote Electronic Notarization (REN).
NotaryCLT Signings™ is awaiting their oath letter from the NC SOS (submitted late August 2024) to be taken to the Register of Deeds to be commissioned as an eNotary. Once commissioned, NotaryCLT Signings™ will be able to legally perform Electronic Notarizations (which still require the physcial presence of the signer).
Notaries are able to notarize a title transfer for submission to the DMV. The seller must be present, and the name of the buyer and address must be entered on the title before the title will be notarized, in order to prevent an "open title" situation. The buyer themselves do not have to be present.
